55-Second Split On Final Lap In Boys 1,600m Final At CIF Southern Section Championships!
Talk about having a finishing kick. Dana Hills (CA) junior Evan Noonan closed in 55 seconds over the final 400 meters to surge from third to first and win the D2 boys 1,600m in 4:04.02 at the 2024 CIF Southern Section Championships.

The winner literally ran that last 100 meters in 10 to 11 seconds. He had too much left in the tank. He could run at least 4:15 with better competition.
